January 2008 Meeting Minutes
P.O.I.N.T. membership met at the Loyal Order of the Moose January 8, 2008 at 7:00pm. Chuck Starrett opened the meeting and welcomed all members and visitors.
Dick Haynes read the minutes of the December 11, 2007 meeting and gave treasurers report. Chuck requested a vote to approve the minutes. Motion made by Don DeMoss and seconded by Irv Baltes. Minutes were approved by show of hands.
Lt. Christy advised Chuck that the Police Department website is in process and all calls or runs will be listed. That will help housing providers monitor their properties for possible problems.
Chuck mentioned the Sheriff’s Sexual Predators list should be monitored but you as a housing provider may need to investigate the situation before evicting a family.
Jim Meyers is working with the formation of neighborhood groups to monitor code enforcement to make sure that it is not abused.
Chuck pointed out the OREIA Retreat in February. Check email or OREIA website for details.
The balance of the meeting was used to outline what needs to be done to circulate and submit 5 referendum partitions by January 17, 2008.
Chuck read synopses of each ordinance that will be carried with the partitions when gathering signatures.
A motion to adjourn was made by Greg Tyson and seconded by Irv Baltes. Meeting was adjourned at 8:14 pm.
