The photo is NOT an alley. It is Grant St. where it intersects Gordon St.
After a serious accident in 2008, it only took the city 17 months to rectify
this GEM of “city street stewardship!”

your right it is grant street but shouldn’t it look like grant street instead of an alley i just call it like i see it. right now, we can’t see anything because all of the snow .thank goodness for that! one nice thing i can see moms old house from there . the blue one. a three hour asphalt capp job on that would surely make it nice. bring it up at one of the meetings . good luck!
auu grant st is a little further north. you know it has the front of the houses showing from it.it shoots off of ford drive west to east, you were close my friend.
@ tojo — the picture was taken in the latter part of the summer 2008. That section is clearly Grant St. as you head east down the hill toward its intersection with Gordon St. as it looked in 2008. That section looks much different now because it was finally resurfaced in late fall 2009 ; maybe that’s why you don’t recognize it.
HOWEVER, WHEN THE CITY INITIALLY RELEASED THEIR AUGUST 2009 STREET REPAIR PLAN, GRANT ST. WAS NOT ON IT! It was only after this picture was posted here and at least one commissioner was notified for the Nth time about the issue that it was finally put on the list of streets that were to be repaired in the Fall 2009.
i think i undestand. but doesn’t the sighn say grant street, up one more street north i may be wrong i’ll have to head back town to see . thanks for the info my friend
I should have been more clear ; it’s the section of “W. Grant St.” as it heads east towards Gordon. CLICK HERE and the use Google’s street view and you should have no problem seeing the area. (The current Piqua “street views” displayed on Google Maps were captured in Summer 2008.)

Wow just came across this blog and you men or women who posted all this about Mr. Harter should be really proud to know that his own daughter has to see just how pathetic people really are..thumbs up guys!!! On a different note if you had your facts straight (which you obviously do not) you would know that Mr. Harter isnt the one who determines which streets in town gets paved and which do not. He has a boss to answer to also, it is actually Engineers who makes that decision not him, he just does what he is told to do. So this is what happens when you have a bunch of people talkn without knowing the true facts. And to his daughter…people will be people you will never be able to change that, but you can be better than that!
its true , harter can only do what he’s authorised to do . a budget is allocated for him ,and he has to make decisions where those monies can be used to the fullest. i worked for him. he’s an ok dude.and does his best to keep piqua citizens happy.by the way i admire his family he’s good to them. sighned ranger dude , retired 06
